Bloggers Stay Alert From Copyrights

Bloggers Stay Alert From Copyrights!
Bloggers should be pay great attention to copyright and blogging rules in order to delivery an interesting blog that audience will enjoy reading.

In regards to the type of blog you write or your blog audience size, there are always legal issues bloggers need to consider, understand and follow. The rules and legal issues are in addition to the blogging rules that every blogger should follow if they want to get into blogging community and have a chance for their blogs to be popular and keep on growing.

If your blog is public and you don't want to get into legal trouble, then you need to keep reading and learn about the legal issues for bloggers listed below. Ignorance isn't a viable defense in a court of law. The responsibility is on the blogger to learn and follow laws related to online publishing.
Therefore, follow the blogging rules and issues relates to blogging and always check with an attorney if you're not sure if it's legal to publish specific content or not (This relates to any size of blog you are writing on "High profile businesses or individuals"). When in doubt, don't publish it.
You cannot publish untrue information about anyone or anything that could negatively affect that person or thing's reputation on your public blog. It doesn't matter if you get no traffic to your blog. If you publish something false about a person or entity that could damage their reputation, you've committed libel and could be in big trouble.

Copyright Legal Issues

Copyright laws protect the original creator of a work, such as written text, an image, a video, or an audio clip, from having that work stolen or misused. For example, you can't republish another person's blog post or article on your blog and claim it as your own. That's plagiarism and a copyright violation. Furthermore, you can't use an image on your blog unless you created it, have permission to use it from the creator, or the image has been copyrighted by the owner with a license that allows you to use it.

If your blog is related to a large size company and contains copyright issues, the company will not be pleased but happy to sue you for copyright infringement.

Company Trademark Legal

Companies communications typically use the copyright registration symbol © or the Service Mark or Trademark symbol following the trademarked name or logo the first time of that name or logo is mentioned. When other companies refer to competitors or other brands in their business communications, they are expected to include the appropriate copyright symbol.

If you use a trademarked brand name or logo in anyway to mislead visitors to your blog into thinking you're affiliated with the trademark owner or represent the owner in any way, you will get in trouble. Even if you use a trademark symbol, you'll get in trouble. That's because you can't mislead people into thinking you have a relationship with a trademark owner that could affect commerce in any way when in reality you don't have such a relationship.

Privacy

Privacy and internet have a solid relationship between them. In the most basic terms, you cannot capture private information about visitors to your blog and share or sell that information to a third party without permission from each person.
If you do collect data about visitors in any way, you need to disclose it. Most bloggers provide a Privacy Policy on their blogs to explain how data is used.

Copyright

Own it or Get deleted
The main legislation dealing with copyright in the United Kingdom is the Copyright, Design and Patents Act, 1988

Copyright

Copyright is one of the main types of intellectual property others include designs, patents and trademarks.
Intellectual property allows a person to own things they create in the same way as something physical can be owned. It is the right to prevent others copying or reproducing someone's work.

When Does Copyrights Arise ?

Copyright arises automatically when a work that qualifies for protection is produced. The work must be original in that it needs to originate with the author who will have used some judgment or skill to create the work - simply copying a work does not make it original.   There is no need in the UK to register copyright.  When an idea is committed to paper or another fixed form, it can be protected by copyright.  It is the expression of the idea that is protected and not the idea itself.  People cannot be stopped from borrowing an idea or producing something similar but can be stopped from copying.

What Does Copyrights Protect?

The main categories of works currently protected in the UK include:

·         original literary works such as novels or poems, tables or lists and computer programmes
·         original dramatic works such as dance or mime
·         original musical works, ie the musical notes themselves
·         original artistic works such as graphic works (paintings, drawings etc), photographs and sculptures
·         sound recordings
·         films
·         broadcasts
·         typographical arrangements (ie the layout or actual appearance) of published editions

Who Own Copyright?

As a general rule, the owner of the copyright is the person who created it, i.e. the author.  An author could be the writer, the composer, the artist, the producer or the publisher or another creator depending on the type of work.

Copyright Infringement

It is an infringement of copyright to do any of the following acts in relation to a substantial part of a work protected by copyright without the consent or authorisation of the copyright owner:

·         copy it
·         issue copies of it to the public
·         rent or lend it to the public
·         perform or show it in public
·         communicate it to the public
http://www.flickr.com/photos/courosa/2481906964/

As mentioned above, for infringement to take place it must involve a substantial part of the work. Whether or not the part to be reproduced is substantial is subjective and the quality, importance or significance of the extract are equally as important (some may say more so) as the quantity of words or lines - using just four lines of a poem or even a four word extract have been found to be substantial.  The test is subjective. It is often said that if something is worth copying, it is worth protecting.

The Virtual World

Virtual worlds take over the online world, Watch over your children's online activities!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/windfairy/3389438317/

Children always ask this question, what is a virtual world. A virtual world is an online community that takes the form of a computer-based simulated environment through which users can interact with one another and use and create objects.

You could be forgiven for thinking that virtual worlds had disappeared. Since the hype around Second Life last year there has been a dearth of mainstream publicity, as if they had all gone from virtual to invisible. In fact a lot is happening.

A survey revealed that children are happier living there own live online as virtual world rather than living in reality. One of the main reason of their response was that they can be exactly who they want to be or quit whenever something is no longer fun. Online technologies is growing so does online strangers, therefore concern about online safety over parental control. Report shows that one in eight young people is in contact with strangers on the web and they often lies about their appearance, age and background by faking their online photos.

Is your children happier with their virtual existences!

Virtual Lives: It is more than a game, it is your life – lays bare the attitudes of children today to the internet and includes revealing insights into how they feel when they are on the web. Some You can talk to people that you don’t normally speak to and you can edit your pictures so you look better. It is as if you are a completely different person.

This is a big problem if your child has a different identity online and communicating with strangers. Many cases in the past reported that children have been in contact with stranger via virtual.
For example:
Second Life has gone ex-growth, judging by the number of avatars online exceeds nearly 64,000 but it is the place to be for experimentation.
Second Life is the third most popular application in the UK in terms of minutes spent on it (after Facebook and YouTube) with growth of 137% in the past year after Disney's Club Penguin,

As a university student I spend around 2 hours daily on Facebook but I always been few days away from Facebook for at least 3 days a weeks unless I really have to communicate with friends or join group and accept events and invitation. My social network details are always incorrect as I use a different online details to keep away from strangers on social network.

Work 3

Workshop 3
Collaboration and
Behind every great person... are a bunch of other people.
Cooperation
Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much.

As a student the basic understanding of collaboration is an act of joining together to make possible that can not be accomplished alone. Whether a student is collaborating in a workplace, in school or as part of a project, collaboration can both help and even hurt depending on how it's been done.

Here are two way collaboration can be accomplished:

  • Decisions should be made based on consensus.
  • When you don't agree, do not get violent or angry.
Now the real question is how to do collaborate as  a Team:

The main focus of collaborating within a team or individual is to have a clear goal in mind. This involved everyone to understand what the goal is and believe that the goal is worthwhile. Therefore Create a results-driven structure within your team that is appropriate for the goal you want to achieve. In the video below you will see how a Team with different skills have collaborate to achieve a goal also what kind of tool was require in order to get a good result.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Collaboration_logo_infobox.svg

Is cooperation important?

Cooperation leads to productivity, a team morale and a generally good working atmosphere.
To achieve something if you are part of a team, of any kind we need to cooperate so that we achieve what we are trying to do. If we don't talk to each other (one message doesn't go where it's intended, for example), and you want to tell someone something, it doesn't get done, does it? If people do do what they say they will do then it gets done. If someone expects you to do something and you don't, it could result in confusions in other people's minds, possibly, I don't know if you have observed this or not of course, but have a look and see if it makes sense to you.

A solid example of this is shown in the video below but a simple example to prove that cooperation is important is "A student has to cooperate with the teacher in class whenever tutorials are given out. Therefore the student is cooperating with the teacher in order to receive instruction from the her and complete the tutorial.

But the question is there a difference between Cooperation and collaboration?
Cooperation and collaboration can be define in many different ways for example: When you cooperate with someone, you are helping them with something that they are doing. A project for example  usually belongs to the other person and you contribute your knowledge or skills to its success. But when you collaborate with someone, you are more of an equal partner, the project belongs to both of you, it is a labor taken on by more than one person towards a common end. A good understanding about the difference between cooperation and collaboration is shown below in the video.

Is this video real?
Yes, using real shepherds and real sheepdogs, and a lot of it was achieved in camera. It was always our ambition to achieve most of it in camera.

If this project or experiment was achieve mostly with the led and camera would it be successful without the dogs?
After watching this video the main aspect I find interesting is the way the team has trained those dog in order to achieved what they want. The dogs are the key for this experiment as there is no way on earth this would be possible to achieve without them.
Therefore I first aspect to cover for this video is without the dogs nothing would be possible.
Firstly the dog must be able to understand what kind of experiment is involved

What about the sheep, what are they doing?
Sheep don’t like being separated from the pack Getting one sheep to stand alone is a  nightmare. Getting one sheep to stand on its own while there’s another pack of sheep near it is virtually impossible. The video shows that the dogs are training to make make the sheep following orders. Whenever the dogs move the sheep move the away from the dogs. Therefore the sheep's move exactly where the dogs want them to go.

Like I mention above the entire team needs to know what the goal and the outcome is even the dogs. This would not be possible if one member of the team doesn't know what is happening during the experiment.
Therefore to be successful the team needs to trust each other and believe that what they are doing must the achieved.

This is as it uses creative technique and a marketing message to for users to pass on. The manufacturer expect everyone to know what their new product coming to the market as this video is being made as a campaign for the launch of a new generation of LED light or TVs.
The main focus of this video is to pass a message about a new generation of LED display/ Light, TV, etc....
